(Learfield News Service/St. Paul, MN) Starting Monday (Sept 17), over 300 law enforcement agencies from across the state will be targeting motorists not wearing their seatbelts.
Lt. Tiffani Nielsen of the State Patrol says parents also need to make sure kids in the car are properly restrained. She says if you are under the age of eight or four-foot-nine you need to be in an appropriate booster style seat. And if you are under the age of four you need to be in a harness style seat. And the American Academy of Pediatrics is recommending that the children should be rear facing as long as possible until they outgrow the seat.
The Click it or Ticket campaign runs from September 17th through the 29th.
