USA Today recently named New Ulm as the 10th best place to live in the United States. The findings were based on a study conducted by 24/7 Wall Street that used over 2 dozen criteria to calculate their list.
The criteria include safety, affordability, transportation, and culture and entertainment. The article said that New Ulm’s poverty rate is at 8.5% which is considerably lower than the national rate of 15.1%.
The article listed 50 cities across the country, with New Ulm taking the number 10 spot and West University Place, Texas at number one.
Sartell came in at number 13, Elk River number 30, Thief River Falls at 31, Hutchinson at number 42, and Albert Lea came in at number 44.
