Due to unnecessary wear and tear on the outdoor warning sirens, the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office and the Hutchinson Police Services will not be testing the sirens on the first Wednesday of the month during December, January, and February.

Authorities say testing will resume the first Wednesday of March 2019.

Should there be an emergency where the outdoor warning sirens would be needed, officials say they will pass along that information to the public by using their mass notification systems.
