Wright County Officials say Missing Woman Found Dead/Search for Cokato Man Continues


Wright County authorities have called off the search for a missing Monticello woman.

The Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Tanisha Maehling was found dead Tuesday afternoon near Buffalo.

Maehling was last seen Saturday in the Montrose area.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office continues asking for assistance in locating Chase Swenson, 30, of Cokato.

Chase last had contact with his family in the afternoon of Monday, December 3 in Cokato.

He left on foot from the residence and is believed to be carrying two backpacks, a sleeping bag, and a home made yellow/black plaid quilt with cancer ribbons on it.

Chase has spoken about wanting to go to Colorado for vacation and may be trying to travel there.

He has health concerns and because of the weather authorities are concerned for his welfare. Chase is described as 6’01”, 290 pounds, blue eyes, dark blond hair a beard and glasses. He has a one inch scar on his right forearm. Chase was last seen wearing brown welding pants, a black welding jacket with orange flames printed on it, winter boots, and glasses.
