A Brownton woman has been charged with credit card fraud after stealing from a Winthrop business.
Last Friday, the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity on a credit card owned by D and J Fixtures. The owner of the business said that no one had received permission to use the card and the last valid use was in 2016.
The total amount of unauthorized transactions equaled over $1,000.
Surveillance footage showed that 21 year-old Brittney Nussbaum was the one using the card. While being interviewed, she admitted to authorities that she used the card herself and also gave others permission to use the card.
