A Paynesville police officer has been charged with domestic assault following an arrest last week in Stearns County.
KSTP repots court records show 34-year-old Nathan Aaron Johnson is charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic assault (commits act to cause fear of bodily harm or death).
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4.
A release from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department last week confirmed Johnson had been arrested and booked into the Stearns County Jail.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called just after 2 a.m. Friday to a residence on River Vista Lane in Le Sauk Township on a report of a domestic assault incident. The caller told authorities they had been struck by Johnson.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the caller about the incident. Deputies also made contact with Johnson at the home, where he was arrested.
Court records show a no-contact order dated Monday requires Johnson to stay 500 feet away from the residence.
