A Florida man has been charged in connection to the burglaries of multiple Winthrop businesses that occurred in June.

Police were able to identify 56-year-old Joseph Hodge as the suspect after he was captured on a surveillance video.

Hodge allegedly stole cash from the Country Drive-In and a camera from JB Lures and attempted to get into Hahn’s Dining and Lounge.

The Mankato Free Press reports that Hodge is in custody in Maine where he allegedly admitted to committing over 2,000 burglaries in 23 states, including two burglaries in Marshall and Fairfax.

He is facing two counts of burglary and attempted burglary in Sibley County Court.
