Hutchinson Man Okay After Vehicle Goes Through Ice on Greenleaf Lake

A Hutchinson man is okay after his pickup went through the ice on Greenleaf Lake in Meeker County Sunday morning.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report just before 10am that a vehicle had gone through the ice on the lake in Ellsworth Township.

Authorities say 33-year-old Dustin Tolsma was driving a Dodge Dakota on the Northwest section of the lake when his vehicle went through. Tolsma was the only occupant of the vehicle and was able to get out. He walked to an occupied fish house on the lake where he was provided dry clothing and a place to warm up.

Authorities say it appears Tolsma drove his truck over an area that was recently cut open for spear fishing.
