A man with Minnesota ties died after being buried in an avalanche in New Mexico last week.
KOAT TV in Albuquerque reports the family of 22-year-old Corey Borg-Massanari confirmed his death Monday.
He was born in Pueblo, Colorado, and was raised in Brainerd, Minnesota. Borg-Massanari was attending school in Vail, Colorado, and was an avid skier.
The avalanche occurred Thursday at Kachina Peak near Taos.
26-year-old Matthew Zonghetti was also killed in last week’s avalanche.
Both skiers were trapped under the snow for more than 20 minutes before being pulled out.
