(Learfield News Service/St. Paul, MN) Anglers in the southern two-thirds of the state have until the end of the day Monday (March 4) to remove their fish house off of the lake.
The DNR’s Alexander Birdsall says there is no way around the fact that it will be challenging to get the structure off the lake due to the amount of snow that fell in February.
He says they want to work with anglers that are out there on the lakes that are having a hard time getting their fish houses removed. But at the same time, they want to let them know that they still need to get the houses off and make every attempt to get them off by the deadline.
If shelters are not removed by the deadline, owners may be prosecuted and structures may be confiscated and removed, or destroyed by a conservation officer.
