(KEYC/BROWN COUNTY, MN) Fifty-eight-year-old Duane Arden Johnson is now facing a third degree murder charge in the death of his wife.
KEYC reports Johnson was previously charged with criminal neglect and receiving stolen property.
According to the final autopsy report from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, Debra Johnson’s cause of death was due to an overdose of methamphetamine.
In the criminal complaint, Duane Johnson had allegedly admitted to police that he had given her the drugs.
Back on January 24th, Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Johnson home in Searles, where they found the body of Debra Johnson wrapped in a sheet. Law enforcement also recovered 47 guns from the home, several of which were stolen.
Duane Johnson had allegedly removed his wife from a nursing home months earlier. According to the criminal complaint, a few days before her death, Johnson allegedly threw his wife a drug-fueled ‘death party’.
