(West Central Tribune/Bird Island, MN) The streets of Bird Island went snow free on Friday, thanks to the help of volunteers who decided not to trust Mother Nature to get the job done in time.
The West Central Tribune reports the volunteers brought equipment and farm trucks to town on Friday morning to clear the streets of snow.
The volunteer snow removal crew took on the task to make certain the streets were clear and that there will be plenty of spaces for parking when the community hosts the annual Tim Orth Memorial Foundation “Jam the Gym” event this coming Saturday (March 23), in the Bird Island gym.
The event is a fundraiser for the Foundation which helps families with children experiencing major medical needs. Doors open at 4 p.m.
