A fire southwest of Kimball Monday afternoon caused damage to a building but nobody was injured.
At 2:19 p.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a building on fire at on County Road 150 in Maine Prairie Township, which is about 1 mile southwest of Kimball.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, an off-duty Kimball firefighter drove by the address and noticed smoke coming from a pole shed and called 911.
Crews from the Kimball Fire Department arrived and put the fire out.
The building, belonging to 30-year-old Joseph Borman suffered moderate damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
