The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office CodeRED Emergency Notification System will be tested in conjunction with the 1:45 p.m. statewide tornado drill on Thursday (April 11), during Severe Weather Awareness Week.
Officials say there is no need to take action if you receive the call. Emergency personnel are merely testing the system to ensure it is operational as needed, and to encourage additional residents to enroll to receive future notifications, which can be done on the Meeker County Sheriff’s website.
The CodeRED system allows Meeker County officials to send emergency messages directly to residents in the event of severe weather and other emergencies affecting county residents.
Notifications can be sent to home phones, cell phones, texts and email addresses to inform residents and better protect life and property.
