The tornado drill day for Thursday (April 11), that was part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, has been canceled due to the winter storm and winds that are forecasted.
Officials say it will not be rescheduled at this time. The National Weather Service says it will not be issuing any test tornado watches/warnings for anywhere in Minnesota. However, individuals and businesses are still encouraged to know where to go when severe weather and tornadoes threaten. (Click here for more information on Severe Weather Awareness Week).
The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says their CodeRED Emergency Notification System will still be tested on Thursday at 1:45pm.
The CodeRED system allows Meeker County officials to send emergency messages directly to residents on home phones, cell phones, texts, and email addresses.
And because of the expected inclement weather, the Spring Job and Career Fair that was to be held tomorrow (Thursday, April 11) at the Hutchinson Event Center has been rescheduled and will be held next week on Wednesday, April 17th. (Click here for information)
