(KWLM/Willmar, MN) An under-dressed man who was wandering around a field in blizzard conditions north of Willmar was rescued by Kandiyohi County Deputies and Willmar Police this morning (Thursday).
Sheriff’s Sergeant Eric Tollefson says at 5:26 a.m. they got a call from a person who said a 41-year-old man had walked out into a field north of Willmar and was not dressed appropriately for the conditions. He had not been seen for about half-an-hour, and at the time it was snowing and a stiff northeast wind was blowing at 15 to 20 with gusts at times near 40 miles an hour.
Deputies and police officers began a ground search, and at about 6:20 a.m. a Willmar Police Officer found him in a field using a squad-car-mounted thermal imaging camera. He was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital. His current condition is unknown.
