Minnesotans Discard over 12,000 lbs of Drugs on Spring Take Back Day

OMAHA, Neb., – The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) collected nearly 469 tons of unwanted medication at the 17th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event, April 27.

Officials say a record-setting 6,398 sites hosted by more than 5,000 law enforcement partners took part in the event.

In Minnesota, 12,676 pounds of potentially dangerous and unwanted drugs were discarded at 116 sites with assistance from 90 local, state, tribal, and federal partners.
