A high-speed chase and a crash early Sunday morning that began in McLeod County resulted in the arrest of a Fridley man.
The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office says at just after 1am, the Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct an excessive speed traffic stop in the area of Hwy 212 and Morningside Dr in Glencoe.
Authorities say 22-year-old Cody Richard Pitkin did not stop and the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office engaged in a pursuit. The suspect vehicle eventually lost control and crashed in a ditch off Hwy 212, near Cologne in Carver County.
The driver was taken to Highway 212 Medical Center, where he was treated and released for minor injuries. He was then arrested on probable cause charges for Felony Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle and booked into the McLeod County Jail.
Also assisting were the Glencoe Police, Carver County Sheriff’s Office, Cologne Fire, and Ridgeview Ambulance.
