(Learfield News Service) The DNR is looking for Minnesotans to help track the state’s loon population.
Now celebrating its 26th year, the Minnesota Loon Monitoring Program is recruiting volunteers to count the number of adults and juvenile loons on pre-selected lakes one morning between Friday, June 28, and Monday, July 8th.
So what does it take to be a Loon Monitor: Complete a short survey, commit to surveying for 2 to 4 hours per lake. Return completed survey materials.
