(KWLM/Harvey Township) For the second time in a week, the Minneapolis Bomb Squad was called out to west-central Minnesota to deal with explosives.
Last week, they disarmed a home made bomb found in a pickup north of Willmar.
In the latest incident, at 4 p.m. Monday, they were called to a home on Highway 12 in Meeker County’s Harvey Township where a PVC tube with 11 sticks of dynamite inside was found in a garage.
The sheriff’s office says the unoccupied home is owned by 74-year-old Diane Revering, and the dynamite was found while family was preparing the property for sale.
It’s believed the dynamite belonged to Revering’s deceased husband, and it’s unknown how long it had been in the garage before it was discovered.
The bomb squad destroyed the dynamite with a controlled explosion on the property northwest of Litchfield.
