A motorcyclist from Avon was injured after he lost control of his machine after hitting a puddle of water in Holdingford Sunday evening.
At just after 5:30, Stearns County officials received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle crash at the intersection of River Street and 4th Street West.
Deputies arrived on scene and found that 22-year-old Benjamin Michael Scegura was traveling eastbound on River Street. He told deputies that he hit a puddle of water causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and lay it down on its side.
Scegura was not carrying a passenger at the time of the crash, nor was he wearing a helmet.
Authorities say the crash investigation determined that alcohol was a probable factor.
Scegura was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
