An Arlington man is facing multiple charges for his involvement in a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in Arlington earlier this summer.
According to the complaint, 60-year-old Curtis Petzel was pulling a livestock trailer with a tractor along westbound Highway 19 when the trailer detached and entered the eastbound lane. The trailer then collided with a motorcycle, killing Marvin and Kathy Fandrich of South Dakota.
The State Patrol’s investigation determined that Petzel had allegedly used the wrong sized ball on his hitch, did not use a safety chain, and did not have brake lights connected to the trailer.
Petzel is facing 6 charges including 2nd degree manslaughter and criminal vehicular homicide.
