Former Brownton Cop Pleads Guilty to Solicitation of a Child

(McLeod County Chronicle/Glencoe, MN) A former Brownton Police Department patrol officer pleaded guilty to one count of electronic solicitation of a child to engage in sexual conduct last week.

The McLeod County Chronicle reports Jacob Lee Binnebose entered the plea Friday, Aug. 30, in McLeod County District Court.

He is scheduled for sentencing by Judge Jody Winters Oct. 29.

Binnebose was charged with three felony-level counts of solicitation of children to engage in sexual conduct. He was scheduled for trial Sept. 11 on three charges. McLeod County Attorney Michael Junge says Binnebose pleaded guilty to the second count. The first and third counts will be dropped at sentencing.

Junge said prison or county jail time along with probation is an option for Judge Winters and the pre-sentence investigation will include results from a pycho-sexual study.

Binnebose’s attorney, Ryan Garry, did not return calls seeking comment on his client’s plea or the potential sentence.
