A driver is in critical condition and five others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon southwest of Hector.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Cole Ramsley of Fairfax was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale in critical condition.
The crash happened just after 1pm at the intersection of Renville County Road 16 and 730th Avenue in Palmyra Township, which is about 7 miles southwest of Hector.
Authorities say Ramsley had been ejected from his vehicle.
The other vehicle was driven by 68-year-old Donn Madsen of Belview. Authorities say he and four passengers were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office reports the initial investigation indicates that the service truck driven by Ramsley was traveling west on 730th Avenue and failed to stop at the stop sign before entering the intersection. The vehicle driven by Madsen struck the truck in the intersection.
