The Hutchinson School Board has begun the process of filling a seat that was left vacant at the end of August.
At last night’s meeting (Tuesday), the first order of business was to elect a new acting board chair. Keith Kamrath was elected to that position, held by former Board Chair Josh Gehlen:
Kamrath will be acting board chair until the next re-organizational meeting in January 2020.
Kamrath then explained how the board intends to fill the position until the next election:
Once the “applications of interest” have been received, the board will meet with them for a discussion at a special board meeting on October 7th in the District’s Central Office Conference Room, which will be open to the public.
The board will then appoint the new board member.
For those interested, more information is available by contacting the District 423 Central Office or on the district’s website.
