The Kamrath family of Hutchinson is donating a life-size bronze statue of a World War II Soldier to the city that will be on display in Hutchinson (photos below).
Keith and Lisa Kamrath, along with their son Jon, appeared before the Hutchinson City Council this week:
Keith Kamrath told the council the family’s plan:
A small wax mock-up of what the statue will look like was shown to the council:
The city of Hutchinson has agreed to prepare the site, and provide the plaque and any future maintenance required.
Kamrath went on to say they’re doing this in recognition of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and his father:
The family says they hope to have the statue installed by Memorial Day next spring.
