Ryane Clark Hwy Dedication

(KWLM/New London, MN) The dedication of Highway 23 between New London and Spicer as the Ryane Clark Memorial Highway takes place Sunday afternoon.

KWLM reports Clark, a 2007 graduate of New London-Spicer High School, enlisted in the army and was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010.

The Minnesota Legislature approved renaming that 5 mile stretch of Highway 23 after Ryane, and his mother, Tracy, says Ryane knew the road well…

…Tracy says the signs marking The Ryane Clark Memorial Highway cost just over $2100…

…One sign will go up north of New London, and the other on the south side of Spicer.  At 230 p.m. Sunday, there will be a gathering in the DNR parking lot along the Glacial Lakes Trail at County Road 31 and 187th Avenue to dedicate the new road.

There will be a few speakers, then chocolate chip cookies, Ryane’s favorites, and coffee.
