Chicken salad sandwiches that were sold at Speedway locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin have been recalled.
KSTP reports that according to a news release from Northern Tier Bakery, the company that produces the sandwiches, the chicken salad sandwiches sold under the brand names SuperMom’s and Hometown Kitchen have been recalled.
The recalled items are packed in a black wedge container and have an “enjoy through” date of Sept. 9, Oct. 1, Oct. 2, Oct. 3, Oct. 4 and Oct. 7.
Northern Tier Bakery says the recall was initiated after Tip Top Poultry, the chicken supplier, informed the company of a potential listeria contamination.
According to the USDA, there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses due to the consumption of the products in question.
Listeria is a bacteria that can cause fever and diarrhea, and more dangerous complications in pregnant women.
