A Jordan man has been arrested and taken to jail after authorities say he was driving drunk and caused a crash near Fairhaven.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 72-year-old Clayton Anthony Johannes was traveling east on County Road 146 approaching a stop sign, entered the intersection, and was hit by another vehicle traveling south on County Road 7 (see Stearns Co Sheriff’s photos below).
The driver of the second vehicle, 58-year-old Lynette Kleve of Howard Lake, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say when they made contact with Johannes, they noticed signs he had been drinking. He was arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail where he awaits charges of Criminal Vehicular Operation resulting in an injury and Fourth Degree DWI.
The crash was reported at 5:19 Sunday evening and remains under investigation.
