The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a couple of thefts, one reported last week, the other reported in June of last year.
On Wednesday of last week, Matthew Olsen of Ames Construction reported that the company’s 2001 Bobcat 773 skid steer and bucket had been stolen from 35546 Highway 25 outside of the city of Green Isle. The skid steer and bucket had been stolen sometime between October 20th and the 23rd. Other missing items were a John Deere 3-drawer tool box, Milwaukee M18 Grease Gun, and a Stihl Weed Whip.
Later in the day Wednesday, deputies from the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office along with the Carver County Sheriff’s Office served and executed a search warrant at a residence in the city of Watertown, where deputies recovered the skid steer, bucket, and tool box.
Authorities say the investigation in ongoing.
Last Tuesday, deputies from the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office served and executed a search warrant in the city of LeCenter.
Authorities say deputies recovered a stolen 2008 John Deere tractor, model 5425.
That tractor was reported stolen from a farm site in Sibley County, rural Belle Plaine in June of 2018.
A deputy from the LeSueur County Sheriff’s Office and an officer from the LeCenter Police Department Assisted with the execution of the search warrant.
Authorities say the theft is still under investigation.
