New Ulm Man Seriously Injured in Two-vehicle Crash

A New Ulm man suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash in Nicollet County Friday evening.

The State Patrol says two pick-up trucks collided at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 5 just after 5:30pm.

The driver of one of the trucks, 76-year-old Richard Kral, was airlifted to St. Mary’s hospital in Rochester for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other truck, 24-year-old Jacob Helget of New Ulm, was not injured. His passenger, 24-year-old Molly Helget also of New Ulm, was taken to Allina Hospital in New Ulm for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
