On Saturday morning, Wright County deputies were called to a drug complaint near the intersection of 90th St NE and Haug Ave NE in Monticello Township.
The Sheriff’s Office says during the investigation, deputies located items and chemicals consistent with those used to manufacture methamphetamine.
The investigation led deputies to a residence in the 6900 block of 91st NE in Monticello where additional items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were located.
Due to possible hazards involved in the containment, collection, and clean-up of the area, specialized units from the BCA and DEA were contacted and were on scene Monday collecting evidence and disposing of any hazardous materials at the location. Authorities say that while this is an active investigation, there is no immediate danger to the public.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office has kept deputies on scene since Saturday to secure the residence while waiting for the DEA response team.
As a result of the investigation, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 39-year-old Monticello man for 1st degree controlled substance crimes as well as possessing counterfeit currency.
