Gov Orders Flags to Fly Half-staff in Honor of Fallen Guardsman


[ST. PAUL, MN] – In honor and remembrance of Warrant Officer Candidate Kort Miller Plantenberg of Avon, Governor Tim Walz has ordered all United States flags and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings from sunrise until sunset today (Thursday, December 12, 2019).

Warrant Officer Candidate Plantenberg is one of three that died in a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter crash last Thursday (Dec 5).

He will be remembered in a funeral mass at Saint John’s Abbey Church in Collegeville today.

Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Class Charles Nord of Perham and Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Class James Rogers of Winsted will also be honored on the day of their interment.
