MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minnesota voter frustrated because President Donald Trump would be the only name on the state Republican primary ballot in March is challenging the move.
Jim Martin, of Lake Elmo, is a small business operator and political independent.
The Star Tribune reports that Martin filed a lawsuit over the primary that is scheduled to go before the state Supreme Court next month.
Martin says he doesn’t want to participate in a process in which the political parties can dictate who the voters can elect.
State GOP Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan has said it’s her job to get the president re-elected.
