(Learfield News Service/St. Paul, MN) Governor Tim Walz says the state is awarding over 23 million dollars to 30 projects across Minnesota to expand broadband Internet access.
The House sponsor of the bill that passed last session, International Falls Democrat Rob Ecklund says, “We need to move this broadband project forward and, as I said earlier, I have another bill ready to go to try to make up the shortfall.”
Governor Walz is tossing around a 30-million-dollar one-time appropriation from the state’s budget surplus to supplement about 20 million dollars already scheduled for next year.
