(Learfield News Service/St. Paul, MN) Flu activity remains widespread in Minnesota. So far this year, there has been at least one pediatric death and 31 adult deaths related to the flu.
Jennifer Heath with the Minnesota Health Department says there were 113 school outbreaks reported last week. The department is encouraging everyone to stay home when you’re sick, so don’t send the kids to school, if you have a young child, or a child with underlying medical conditions, call your healthcare provider and talk to them about potentially getting anti-viral treatment.
Heath says the sooner anti-viral treatments are administered, the more effective they are.
