GLENCOE, Minn.—The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) today (Friday) confirmed a positive case of novel coronavirus, COVID-19, in McLeod County, the county’s first case of the respiratory illness.
Minnesota Department of Health staff are conducting the case investigation.
Unless hospitalized, positive cases are isolated at home to prevent disease spread and the contact investigation identifies their close contacts.
Close contacts are quarantined for 14 days from their exposure and monitored for fever and respiratory symptoms.
McLeod County Public Health will be responsible for coordinating essential services for those in isolation and quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure. Those services include ensuring they have access to food and water, health care, and other necessities.
