(Learfield News Service/St. Paul, MN) — Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office settled an investigation into possible price-gouging conduct by a Howard Lake-based egg producer.
Ellison says some egg producer supply prices had nearly tripled because pre-existing contracts tied egg prices to a market index. He said Forsman Farms cooperated fully with the investigation and “the mutual resolution protects Minnesotans against excessive increases in egg prices during the emergency.”
Forsman agreed to limit its prices to no more than 20 percent over pre-emergency price. An executive order bans price gouging on essential goods during the COVID-19 pandemic.
