(KWLM/Willmar MN-) Willmar police responded to a domestic assault incident in Southeast Willmar this morning (Friday) that resulted in several injuries, some serious.
KWLM reports several ambulances were dispatched as well as air ambulance helicopters.
In a news release from Police Chief Jim Felt, at 5:40 a.m. Willmar Police were called to an address in SE Willmar on the report of a domestic disturbance. Felt said at this point the incident is stabilized and there is no danger to the public.
He said during the incident a Willmar Police Officer was seriously injured. That officer has been airlifted to St. Cloud for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
At this point, police are unable to release any suspect information due to the early stage of the investigation but want to reiterate that there is no danger to the public.
The MN BCA has been called to investigate and will be the lead agency.
