Renville County Announces Grants to Assist in Cleanup of Blighted Properties


(OLIVIA, MN, May 1, 2020) The Renville County Housing and Redevelopment Authority /Economic Development Authority (HRA/EDA) has created a grant program for property owners and local units of government to assist with demolition and cleanup of blighted properties located within Renville County. The deadline for application for funding in 2020 is June 1, 2020.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available to assist with the proper cleanup of blighted structures that pose a risk to health and safety. Grants require a 1:1 cash match and are reimbursed upon submission of paid receipts for costs incurred. To be eligible for this grant, demolition may not begin on the property until the grant is awarded.  For a full listing of grant rules, guidelines and an application, please visit and click on Blight Removal under the Housing tab.
