Over the past few days, Meeker County authorities dealt with a couple of vehicle pursuits that led to arrests.
On Friday just before 8:30pm, a Meeker County Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 12, just west of Highway 15, in Dassel Township; on suspicion the driver was intoxicated.
The driver, later identified as 35-year-old Megan Bryan of St. Cloud, fled from the deputy.
The deputy pursued for about five miles before the driver stopped.
Bryan was arrested without further incident for DUI and fleeing a peace officer. A preliminary investigation revealed Bryan’s blood alcohol content was .30.
A passenger, 27-year-old Dana Laughton of Darwin, was arrested for obstructing when she physically resisted deputies. Laughton was also charged with introducing contraband into a jail. Laughton posted bail and was given a court date for July 28.
Bryan made her first court appearance yesterday (Monday).
On Sunday, at 3:30pm, a Meeker County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Andrew Dmytruk of Litchfield, on Highway 12 and 560th Avenue, in Litchfield Township. Dmytruk initially stopped for the deputy and was identified. Dmytruk then drove away from the traffic stop and the deputy pursued.
As Dmytruk approached another officer who was waiting for the pursuit to pass by, he pulled over and was arrested without further incident.
The pursuit lasted about two miles. Dmytruk was booked in the Meeker County jail for
charges including fleeing a peace officer and controlled substance violations.
Dmytruk made his first court appearance yesterday (Monday).
