Hutchinson officials are working on a proposal to allocate federal “CARES Act” funding to small businesses that have been adversely affected financially by the coronavirus pandemic.
A committee was formed at the direction of the city council to look at how to providing loans to small businesses within the city limits.
Economic Development Authority Director Miles Seppelt outlined a draft of a proposal to the council earlier this week, based on federal limits, or “guidelines,” for qualified applicants:
After hearing input from the council, Seppelt said he would tweak the proposal and bring it back to the next council meeting in August for possible action.
Seppelt said once the proposal is approved, the application process would be available on the city’s website.
