On Tuesday of last week, at about 11:25pm, the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a house fire at 7488 7th Avenue in New Auburn.
When deputies arrived, the house was actively on fire.
The Sheriff’s Office says two adult women and two children were located on the roof of the residence and deputies were able to get them off safely.
A short time after they were removed from the roof, there was a burst of flame (explosion) in the second story, causing live power lines to be thrown from the building.
No one was seriously injured.
Officials say the house is a multiple unit housing structure with three apartments.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the families.
The cause remains under investigation.
