One Taken to Hospital After Multi-vehicle Crash West of Howard Lake

(KWLM/Howard Lake MN-) Four people were injured, but only one was hospitalized after a pile-up on Highway 12 two miles west of Howard Lake yesterday morning (Wednesday).

The State Patrol says at 8:30am, a semi with a tanker trailer was traveling eastbound on Highway 12 and rear ended a pickup pulling a gravity box trailer. The gravity box flew into the westbound lane and hit a cement truck. The semi then tried to avoid the gravity box and rearended a car.

The semi, driven by 46-year-old Joel Hinnenkamp of Sauk Centre then rolled onto it’s side, blocking Highway 12.

Hinnenkamp was not seriously injured, but the driver of the cement truck, 64-year-old Steven Rossman of South Haven was taken to the Buffalo Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
