A Hutchinson man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct and burglary after police were called to a mainstreet apartment Friday night.
At 9:30pm, Hutchinson Police responded to a 911 call to an apartment on the 100 block at Main Street South from a female stating an unknown male was in her apartment and was attacking her. When the female opened her apartment door, the male was inside her apartment, struck her in the face with a computer keyboard and tried to strangle her.
Authorities say the man, identified as 28-year-old Andrew Michael Willcutt made multiple sexual comments to the victim and used force to accomplish sexual contact with the victim. The victim was able to gain physical advantage of the suspect and call 911 and was able to hold the suspect down until police arrived.
The victim suffered a bloody nose, gouges to her eye, and multiple scratches and bite marks.
Police say it’s believed Willcutt gained entry to the apartment through a window. Willcutt was arrested, taken to jail, and has been charged with Felony 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and Felony 1st Degree Burglary.
Police believe Willcutt also trespassed at an adjoining downtown business earlier in the day where some of his belongings with his name were later found.
