Road Signs Recovered in Kandiyohi Co/Teens Face Charges


(Willmar MN-) The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department says they have recovered several of the road signs that have been stolen over the last month or so, and several people face criminal charges.

KWLM reports that according to a news release, Detective Sergeant Kent Bauman says on Wednesday they acted on a tip and and conducted several resident searches, and conducted several interviews regarding the thefts.

As a result, they confiscated over 35 public works street signs and a construction barrel, which are believed to have been stolen from various locations in northeast Kandiyohi County over a period of several weeks.

Bauman says several juveniles and young adults will be facing theft and criminal damage to property charges.

He asks anyone who has information on any other missing public works signs to call the sheriff’s department tipline at 320-214-6700, extention 6718.

The investigation is ongoing.
