(St. Paul MN-) Representative Dean Urdahl of Grove City has been appointed to serve on the Minnesota House Select Committee on Racial Justice.
The group holds it’s first meeting this afternoon (Tuesday).
The group is co-chaired by DFL Representatives Ruth Richardson of Mendota Heights and Rena Moran of St. Paul, and GOP Representative Lisa Demuth of Cold Spring is Vice Chair.
They will be examining disparities Minnesotans of color face regarding health, public safety, education, employment, housing and other areas.
In July, the House approved a resolution declaring racism a public health crisis in Minnesota, noting more than 100 studies have linked racism to worse health outcomes, while Black and Indigenous communities experience the highest death rates.
