Hutchinson DAV to Donate Van to Veteran

The Hutchinson Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota Chapter 37 is donating a handicap accessible van to a veteran today (Thursday, photo below).

Adjutant of DAV Chapter 37 Van Karg says “This vehicle will enable a veteran to return to his fulfilling life.”

Karg adds, “Our members are pleased to donate the van so he can continue to visit family, go shopping, attend medical appointments and be an engaged member of the community.”

Robert (Bob) Sitz is the recipient of the donation. Bob is a Korean War veteran and served in Korea from 1951-1954 and was employed as a heavy equipment operator after his release from service until retirement.

The van was donated to Hutchinson DAV Chapter 37, with the wishes that it go to help a veteran in need. Through DAV’s “Donor Connect” Program, they coordinated a link between this donation and a local veteran from their waiting list.

Karg says “We could not have accomplished this without the support of the entire community, our veterans are respected and honored in Hutchinson.”
