More Arrests Made in Rural Litchfield Shooting


More arrests were made Tuesday after a search warrant was served at a residence related to a Sunday shooting that has left a 34-year-old rural Litchfield man in critical but stable condition.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says an 18-year-old woman from rural Litchfield and a 45-year-old woman from rural Grove City were arrested Tuesday for their alleged involvement in the shooting.

The shooting was reported late Sunday night.

The shooting occurred in the 23900 block of Highway 22 in Litchfield Township.

Two men were arrested at that time, an 18-year-old from rural Grove City and an 18-year-old from rural Litchfield. Authorities believe the shooting was drug-related.

A follow-up search warrant was executed at a residence in the 24200 block of 548th Avenue in rural Grove City in Acton Township. Authorities say the firearm believed used in the shooting was recovered. They also found methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy, and drug paraphernalia

A 20-year-old rural Grove City man, a 45-year-old rural Litchfield man, and a 48-year-old Minneapolis man were arrested for controlled substance violations.

All those arrested were booked into the Meeker County Jail pending formal charges.
