(KWLM/Forest City MN-) A Forest City man is under arrest after a domestic shooting incident yesterday afternoon.
KWLM reports the Meeker County Sheriff’s Department says 55-year-old Mark Gapinski faces charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Domestic Assault and Terroristic Threats pending his first court appearance.
At 1:09 p.m. Tuesday the sheriff’s office got a report of a domestic situation at a home on County Road 2 in Forest City.
Gapinski allegedly aimed a rifle at the victim and threatened to shoot. The victim fled the home, after which Gapinski fired a shot, but no one was hurt.
Deputies, rescue, ambulance and the SWAT Team surrounded the home, evacuated the neighborhood or had residents shelter in place, and began negotiating with Gapinski. They lost contact with Gapinski, and at 5:11 p.m., as the SWAT Team moved in, Gapinski exited the house and was arrested without incident.
The rifle was later recovered from the house.
